Raw Scottish Heather Honey (TA 13+)

Pure Scottish Heather Honey: The "Manuka of the North" (TA 13+)

Harvested from the wild, purple-clad Highlands of Scotland, our Raw Heather Honey is a bold, aromatic masterpiece. Known for its unique jelly-like consistency and deep amber hue, this isn't just honey—it’s a functional superfood with a medicinal-grade Total Activity (TA) rating of 13+.

The British Superfood Powerhouse While Manuka honey is famous worldwide, scientific studies have shown that high-quality Scottish Heather honey is just as effective at inhibiting bacterial growth. With 10x more Manganese than any other honey and a rich profile of polyphenols, this is nature’s most potent defense in a jar.

Why Maters & Co. Scottish Heather?

• Verified TA 13+ Potency: Lab-tested for high antimicrobial and antibacterial activity, providing a comprehensive view of quality.
• Exceptional Mineral Content: Boasts the highest levels of Manganese—a vital trace mineral that may support bone health, metabolism, and may protect tissues from damage.
• 100% Raw & Cold-Pressed: We never heat our honey above the natural temperature of the hive, ensuring every enzyme and nutrient remains intact.
• Wild & Pure: Foraged from resilient Ling Heather in remote, pesticide-free Scottish moorlands, far from modern pollution.

Sensory Profile

• Texture: Remarkably thick and "thixotropic"—it has a unique jelly-like body that holds its shape until stirred.
• Taste: A complex, "grown-up" flavor. Bold and woody with notes of bitter-toffee, warm smoke, and a clean, floral finish.
• Aroma: Heady and fragrant, instantly evoking the scent of the Scottish wilderness in late summer.

A Rare Harvest: Scottish Heather is notoriously difficult to harvest due to its thick texture and the unpredictable Highland weather. Our supplies are limited and reflect the true "Slow Food" tradition of the British Isles.

Not sure about the taste? Why not purchase our beautiful 45g mini jar to sample the taste!
