Mini Borage Honeycomb Frame

A rare piece of this season's British Borage harvest.

After four years, our Borage Honeycomb Sections are back.

Each section is a small piece of natural honeycomb, filled with our Borage (Starflower) honey and naturally sealed by the bees.

Producing honeycomb sections takes considerably more time and patience than jarred honey. The sections are prepared and fitted into the hives, then left for the bees to build, fill and seal. Not every section makes it — some aren't filled sufficiently, so the honey is harvested in the usual way instead.

Borage produces a particularly delicate, fine-textured beeswax comb with a light, floral character. Cut pieces from the section as you go and enjoy the honeycomb on toast, alongside cheese, or simply on its own.

British monofloral honeycomb is particularly difficult to come by, requiring the right flowering season, suitable conditions and an abundance of the particular blossom.

We've only been able to offer Borage Honeycomb Sections once before — four years ago. This year's harvest has given us just 50 sections, and we don't know when we'll have them again.
